Open questions

Things the public record does not yet answer. Listed rather than guessed at.

  • When exactly did SDCOE adopt Board Policy 0441?

The webcast archive lists the board meeting as September 9. The agenda page refers to a September 10 regular meeting. The adoption itself is visible in the meeting video but not yet in any posted document.

  • Has the state AI working group finished?

The CDE page lists Monday, October 12, 2026, as a completion meeting, with the legislative report already finalized in August. Secondary accounts place the final meeting in September.

  • What did the August discussion change in 0441?

The adopted text appears to incorporate concerns raised at the earlier reading. Comparing the two versions is the next piece of work here.

How this is compiled

Every entry comes from a public document: a board agenda or packet, adopted policy text, meeting video, or state guidance. Nothing appears here that has not been read in full. Where a document is ambiguous or two sources disagree, the disagreement is listed under open questions rather than resolved silently.

Coverage is the San Diego County Office of Education and the boards of San Diego Unified, Sweetwater Union High, Poway Unified, Chula Vista Elementary, Grossmont Union High, and La Mesa–Spring Valley. Together they enroll a little over half the county's public school students. The other districts are swept monthly and appear when something happens.

A blank cell means the public record has not shown anything yet. Many districts are doing work that has not reached a board agenda, and this page cannot see that work.
