It's All Alive

A generative canvas redrawn from live weather, tide, swell, and sky data — 24 points across San Diego County, 13 layers, updated every 10 minutes.

• 2026-09-11 Sun and Moon are now live orbs on their own real rise/noon/set (Sun) and rise/transit/set (Moon, found numerically — it has no closed form) arcs, sized to scale with the canvas. Replaced the old fixed "first light" marker; the wall's caption now leads with the day count and time, followed by a Solar/Lunar almanac.
• 2026-09-11 Fixed an intermittent bug where the wall's live-reading footnote could get stuck on its placeholder text forever, with no error — its update listener could attach to a throwaway document the browser creates before the artwork's iframe finishes navigating in. Also removed the dark-mode canvas spotlight glow.
• 2026-09-08 The How It's Built sample-grid map moved from its own section, into the layer picker, then onto the canvas itself as a direct overlay, with an Off/Grid/Land & water/Topo toggle.
